Our Visit to The Burgers

by | Oct 7, 2021 | Food | 0 comments

The Burgers is an expensive hamburger restaurant with a location in Knoxville, Powell, and Lenior City. I’m a little bit of a burger snob. I like a good burger, but it’s hard to impress me. My first thought was that if a restaurant is going to name itself “The Burgers” and be that expensive, they better have some of the best hamburgers I’ve ever had. Fortunately, they do. Here’s a look at our visit to the Lenoir City location.

Parking

The parking lot is huge and can easily accommodate vehicles of any size. There’s plenty of parking on the side and in the front. It also has a ramp for wheelchairs. The restaurant is located on the main road (Hwy 312) and the sign is easy to see from the road.

Atmosphere

The Burgers is a sports bar and grill. They have indoor and outdoor eating areas. We ate inside. It feels like a cross between casual dining and a country sports bar. They play country music with sports playing on TVs. The tables are hardwood. The floor is concrete. There are car tags on the walls. It’s an interesting design. Several people, us included, weren’t sure if we were supposed to sit anywhere or wait to be seated. Some sort of sign at the entrance would be good. The place was very clean.

Menu Variety and Price

The menu includes hamburgers, hotdogs, BBQ, chicken, fish, salad, side items, and dessert. Most burgers are around $12-$14. There was enough to choose from and you could go back many times and try something different each time.

Food Quality and Portions

I got the Knox Burger (medium well) with fries and sweet tea. This is easily a competition-quality burger. The fries were rough-cut and had good seasoning. The sweet tea was slightly strong, but it had a good flavor and wasn’t too sweet for me. I had enough for two meals and it tasted just as good the next day.

Burger rank = S

Lucinda got pulled pork, green beans, and water to drink. The BBQ sauce is on the sweet side but still very good. It was tasty, but it doesn’t compete with their burgers. The greens were good and well cooked, but the portion seemed small compared to the fries. They had a seasoning that tasted a lot like the liquid from a jar of pickled peppers.

Wait Staff

The wait staff was attentive and checked on us several times. It took around 12 minutes to get our food once we placed our order. They offered tea to go.

Randy’s Thoughts

Well, The Burgers lived up to their name. This was easily one of the best burgers I’ve had. Their fries are also on that list. Whether it’s the best in East Tennessee remains to be seen. I still have a lot of burger restaurants to try. They’re definitely high on my list.

Would you go back? Absolutely. I’d love to try every burger they have. They are twice the price of most burger places though, so I won’t go as often as I’d like.

Lucinda’s Thoughts

I really liked the barbecue and the greens were well cooked even if not exactly what I expected. The service was good. They were much busier than the pictures would make it seem when we were there. Almost everyone chose to eat on the patio.

Would you go back? Yes, I really want to try one of their burgers, and they have some good-sounding chicken sandwiches I’d like to try as well.

Who Should Visit The Burgers
