The Bluehorn 3-in-1 Selfie Stick is a combination selfie stick and tripod with a wireless remote for smartphones. It seems to be branded as several different selfie sticks, so anything that looks like this one probably is this one. It’s compatible with smartphones, cameras, and camcorders.
We’ve taken it on almost every trip we’ve done while preparing for this website, so it’s gotten quite a lot of use over the past couple of months. We even saw someone else using this same selfie stick on our first trip with it to Ozone Falls. Here are my thoughts on using this selfie stick with a smartphone.

Materials and Build
It’s made of plastic and aluminum. The parts that you hold and the parts that hold your smartphone are plastic. It feels rugged enough to use on hiking trails. The box includes the instructions printed on the outside.
Using the Bluehorn 3-in-1 Selfie Stick
The telescoping parts are the right amount of tightness. The top part that holds the smartphone has a small ball that sits in a socket with a slot on one side. This is tightened by hand. It gives you enough freedom to get the angles you want and it holds its position well.
The smartphone mount has a hand-tightened screw. The parts that hold the smartphone have rubber grips. I had no issues with the way it holds the smartphone. It was a little aggravating having to tighten or loosen the screw every time I wanted to mount or unmount the phone. It did hold it well, though.
The grip also becomes the tripod. This makes the handle feel a little awkward and larger than I’d like it to be. The remote is mounted into the handle in a good location, so it’s easy to click.
It feels a little unstable when it’s completely extended. I preferred using it with the first and last sections not extended.
It folds up fairly well and fits into a large pocket. I carried it in my pocket on most of our hikes and never had any issues carrying it. It’s also lightweight, so I barely noticed it was there.
Remote Shudder
The remote control for the shutter sits in a small mount on the grip. This grip is also the tripod. Fortunately, the remote does come out of the mount. Also, fortunately, it’s held in the mount really well, so it won’t fall out. It charges via USB and has an off switch. The battery lasts for weeks.
The remote shutter doesn’t work with all devices and it works differently from one device to another. For my Samsung Galaxy 20 FE, it only controlled the shutter, The zoom didn’t work. Instead, the zoom buttons worked as a rapid-fire that took lots of photos for as long as you held the button.
Using the Bluehorn 3-in-1 Selfie Stick as a Tripod
The handle becomes the tripod. This is small and doesn’t feel very sturdy unless the ground is completely level. The feet do have grips, so that helps. It didn’t help that we were using it on the ground, but we like taking photos on hiking trails, around streams, etc., so stability on the ground is a must for us. We were able to get it to stand, but it took a minute of working with it.
Do We Recommend the Bluehrn 3-in-1 Selfie Stick?
We recommend the Bluehorn 3-in-1 Selfie Stick if you don’t need something with a small handle or you don’t care about the zoom function. The zoom function might work with your device, but it does say on the box that it might not. This is a well-made selfie stick that seems like it will last well on any hiking trip.
