Here’s our look at the 2021 Christmas Parades in East Tennessee. Saturdays seem to be the big day for parades especially December 11th.
All dates and times might change due to weather or a rise in COVID-19 cases.

November
East Ridge is scheduled to have a Christmas Parade on November 20th starting at 6:30 PM.
There will be a Lighted Boat Parade on November 26th in Chattanooga. There will be lots of family fun on the Chattanooga Green starting at 4:30 – live reindeer, hot chocolate, holiday tunes, pictures with Santa, and more. The parade itself will start at 7 PM with fireworks to follow at 8 PM.
December 2nd through 6th
December 2nd the Bristol Christmas Parade will start at 7 PM rain or shine. The parade route begins at the intersection of W. State Street and Bob Morrison Blvd and continues down historic State Street to the train station. 150 floats make up this parade with Santa riding on the last one.
The Etowah Durant Tullock Memorial Christmas Parade will take place on December 2nd starting at 7 PM.
Morristown will have its Christmas Parade on December 2nd starting at 7 PM. The theme this year is “Have Yourself a Musical Little Christmas” and will follow the traditional route through downtown Morristown ending at HomeTrust Bank.
Gatlinburg‘s Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade will start at 7:30 PM on December 3rd. The parade route starts at Baskins Creek Bypass and East Parkway and runs to traffic light #10. It will feature lighted floats, marching bands, equestrian units, and of course Santa Claus. Parade-goers are encouraged to arrive early to find a spot and to wear Santa hats.
The WIVK Christmas Parade will take place on December 3rd. The parade will be along Gay Street in downtown Knoxville and will start at 7 PM. It will feature bands, dancers, lighted floats, and Santa Claus.
Sweetwater‘s Christmas Parade is scheduled for 7 PM on December 3rd. This parade is sponsored by the Sweetwater Kiwanis Club and will start at Mayes Avenue, travel through downtown Sweetwater, and end at the Plaza 68 Shopping Center.
There will be a Christmas Parade and Festival on December 3rd in Red Bank. The Festival will be held at Red Bank City Park with local vendors on-site from 4 to 8 PM offering unique craft and gift selections. The Christmas Parade, featuring Santa and Mrs. Claus, will begin at 6 PM at East Leawood Avenue and end at Unaka Street.
The Mainstreet Cleveland Christmas Parade will start at 6 PM on December 4th. It starts at the Bradley Central High School and travels a 3-mile route through Downtown Cleveland.
Sevierville‘s 59th Annual Christmas Parade will start at 10 AM on December 4th and run through the historic downtown area.
A Christmas Parade will take place along Main Boulevard in downtown Church Hill on December 4th starting at 11 AM.
Clinton’s traditional Christmas Parade of bands, floats, local artists, and more will procede through Historic Clinton on December 4th at 6 PM. This year’s theme is “Dreaming of a White Christmas”.
Greenback‘s Christmas Parade is scheduled for December 4th. The parade will start at 11 AM.
Vonore‘s Christmas Parade is scheduled to start at 1 PM on December 4th.
Madisonville‘s Christmas Parade is also scheduled for December 4th. I have seen 3 different start times (4 PM, 5 PM, and 6 PM). If anyone knows for sure or knows who I can contact to find out please let me know.
The “All American Christmas” Parade will be held in Rogersville on December 4 at 4 PM starting at East Rogersville Baptist Church. An Open House, hosted by the downtown merchants, and a tree lighting service are also scheduled for this day.
Townsend‘s Christmas Parade is themed “A School House Christmas”. It will take place starting at 2:30 PM on December 5th and the route starts near the IGA and end at Nawger Nob Village.
Athen‘s annual “Jimmy Liner Christmas Parade” is scheduled for Monday, December 6th at 6:30 PM in downtown Athens
December 11th
Spring City‘s Christmas Parade will take place along Front Street on December 11th starting at 2 PM. The theme this year is “Spring City Express” (based on the “The Polar Express”). There is also a Christmas at the Depot event going on that day from 10 AM to 4 PM with free family fun activities and food and gift vendors.
Loudon‘s Christmas Parade will be on December 11th starting at 6 PM. This year’s theme is “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”. The route runs down Highway 11 from Carter Street to Grove Street.
Kingsport‘s Bloomingdale Ruritan Christmas Parade will take place starting at 10 AM on December 11th. The route will run from Ketron Elementary to New Beason Well Road.
Mainstreet Elizabethton will host its Christmas Parade downtown on December 11th. The parade will start at 6 PM and will feature floats with scenes from Christmas Movies to match the “Christmas on the Big Screen” theme.
New Market will host its Christmas Parade on December 11th starting at noon.
The Oak Ridge Christmas Parade is also scheduled for December 11th starting at 6 PM. This year’s parade theme is “The Twelve Days of Christmas”.
The City of Norris will celebrate the season with a Christmas Parade on December 11th at 6 PM.
Jonesborough will host its Christmas Parade on the 11th starting at 6 PM. The theme for this year’s parade is “Christmas in the South”. The route will run down Main Street through historic Jonesborough.
December 18th
Tellico Plains‘ Christmas Parade will start at 5:30 PM on December 18th. Their parade features a large number of horses and riders. The parade route starts at the Veterans Memorial gazebo on Main Street, turns on to Babcock, then the Cherohala Skyway, and finally on to Bank Street to end at the Community Center.
